Designing a bedroom for a teen girl can be hugely inspiring. Often times, this space allows for bolder color and fabric combinations. It also encourages the teenager to tap into her own creativity and contribute to the design scheme.
I have fond memories of pouring over my Laura Ashley coffee table book, obsessing over color palettes for my adolescent room. My incredibly brave mom helped me to cover the baseboards, walls, and even the doors in pink and green paint.
While my room wasn’t the most sophisticated design, the ability to express myself in a creative way was hugely rewarding.
Thank you, Mom!
Here are some bedrooms that may inspire you and your daughter to dream up a youthful refuge.
A bedroom with bohemian and Moroccan details that is rich with color and texture.
A spirited space for a trendsetter, with custom and vintage pieces that can easily transition into adulthood.
Layers of pattern in varying scales look fresh, especially when paired with a vintage feeling rattan bed and the clean lines of the bedside tables.
Being a teen is fleeting, but the memories made with family and friends lasts for a lifetime.
Dream, design, and create.
