This Santa Barbara residence balances sophistication and whimsy through layered materials, collected furnishings, and boldly expressive design moments. Designed for a young creative homeowner, the project blends modern luxury with playful individuality, resulting in a home that feels both elevated and deeply personal.
Throughout the home, Andrea Schumacher Interiors juxtaposed refined architectural detailing with unconventional elements including sculptural lighting, richly veined stone, dramatic color contrasts, and collected vintage pieces. The result is a coastal California home that feels imaginative, curated, and effortlessly livable.
Created in collaboration with Becker Henson Niksto, the residence embraces subtle references to the client’s childhood memories while maintaining a sophisticated contemporary sensibility. Every room balances function, personality, and artistry through richly layered interiors designed to evolve over time.
