When it comes to interior design in Denver, some designers create beautiful rooms—then there are those who truly embody their spaces. Jaclyn BonSalle, Lead Interior Designer at Andrea Schumacher Interiors, is one of those rare talents. For Jaclyn, design is more than a profession—it’s woven into every part of her life. Her passion for interior design doesn’t stay confined to blueprints or Pinterest boards; it spills over into her wardrobe, dreams, and day-to-day inspiration.

“I believe that I have become a part of my project,” Jaclyn says. “My wardrobe suddenly begins matching my selections, and my jewelry will mimic the hardware. I will dream in the color palette. I become fully immersed in my projects, and there is an apparent outward projection of that.”

It’s this immersive, wholehearted approach that makes Jaclyn’s work stand out in the Denver interior design scene. Her projects are layered, fearless, and deeply personal—qualities that have only grown stronger since she joined Andrea Schumacher Interiors, one of the top luxury interior design firms in Denver. “Coming from Miami, I was very used to lots of white walls and very modern styles,” Jaclyn recalls. “Working here, where bold meets refined, I’ve learned the art of pattern play and how to embrace bold color when the space calls for it.” The shift in style has sharpened her design instincts and empowered her to take creative risks that pay off beautifully.

One memorable project was a home in Texas, where Jaclyn made a dramatic, last-minute decision: choosing a striking custom pattern for a sectional that wrapped around the entire living room, a huge departure from the original plan. “It could not have turned out more beautiful,” she says. “The client was thrilled.”

When asked if there are any mindsets she’s left behind, Jaclyn offers a refreshing take. “I haven’t outgrown mindsets, but I’ve adapted and created new ones.” It’s a subtle reminder that great design is about evolving while honoring where you’ve come from.

Jaclyn’s journey into the world of interior design began through art. While working at an art gallery in Greenwich, Connecticut, she found herself in a client’s home, mentally redesigning the entire space. “I suddenly realized she needed new lighting, a different paint color, and different furniture. That became my new passion.” It was a pivotal moment that led her to pursue a second bachelor’s degree in interior design—and she hasn’t looked back since.

Her work at Andrea Schumacher Interiors, a premier interior design firm based in Denver, draws from her rich background in art and fashion. With a degree in art history, Jaclyn pulls inspiration from centuries of visual culture, while her love of fashion continually sparks new ideas for color, texture, and silhouette. “I am often inspired by color palettes and silhouettes that can be applied to interiors,” she says. This cross-pollination brings an unexpected depth to her Denver interior design projects.

Jaclyn is also known for breaking the “rules.” One of her favorite design rebellions? Installing directional patterned wallpaper on ceilings. “I’ve done this often and will continue to do so. The results are unexpected and playful.” It’s this fearless creativity that makes her interiors not just stylish, but truly memorable.

Above all, Jaclyn believes in designing with intention—an approach that goes far beyond surface beauty. For her, great interior design means telling her client’s story and creating a space that feels genuinely personal.

If her career had a mood board, it would undoubtedly be full of sumptuous velvets. “Velvets, lustrous velvets. My absolute favorite texture—I couldn’t imagine designing without it.”

What keeps Jaclyn passionate about interior design in Denver and beyond is the magic of the final reveal. It’s the moment when a space transforms from an idea on paper into a living, breathing environment—something that’s loved and lived in. “It’s in these moments,” she says, “that I feel most alive.”

To meet Jaclyn BonSalle is to experience a designer who doesn’t just curate beautiful interiors—she lives them. From her bold color choices to her thoughtful philosophy on evolution and intention, she brings a refreshing energy to Denver’s interior design community. Her work is as much about connection and curiosity as it is about aesthetics.
